Human hair are usually collected from donors form different parts of the world, they are often more expensive. Unlike synthetic hair, they give you choice to style it, color it or cut it.

They have two types; one is processed while the other is raw hair. Treatment

We expect a lot from hair extensions, yet don’t take proper care of them. Unlike our own hair, hair extensions don’t have natural oils to take care of them, so they require a little more work.  Take care of them by cleaning and untangling them every day, and always dry them before sleeping, never sleep with wet hair extensions.  Use high quality hair care products and always use a heat protectant spray before using hot tools on your extensions, it will make them last long.

Durability

They are considered to be semi-permanent hair extensions. They usually last 2-4 months before they are supposed to be remove them and re-apply.  However, it totally depends on how well they are taken care of and your hair growth.

Styling

Treatment

Human hair clip-in extensions are very low maintenance; they just require being washed after every 15-20 wears.  They need the same hair regime as your natural hair, Just brush, Shampoo and condition, and let the hair air dry. It is advisable to use heat protectant spray before using hot tools on your extensions to make them last long.

Durability

If you treat them good, they might last up to a year, however the average life span is somewhere between 3-6 months, it all depends on how to take care of them and what kind of products you use on them.

Styling

They allow you to straight, curl or color them, although  it is better is a lower heat setting is used when the hair are being heat styled  and using a hair protectant spray.

Fusion & Pre-Bonded Hair Extensions

What Are They?

They are one of the original forms of hair extensions.  Fusion hair extensions are made of keratin bonding material and individual hair. The glue doesn’t cause damage to the hair when installing the extensions, because natural hair consist mostly keratin.

Treatment

They are supposed to be treated just like your real hair; you can wash them with sulphate and paraben free shampoo and then conditioning as usual. It is advisable to brush the hair 4-5 times a day to avoid tangles.

Durability

If taken proper care of, they last around 2-3 months before they require refill. However, just like any other hair extensions, it depends on the care, your hair type and hair growth.   

Styling

These hair extensions are bonded to the roots of your hair shaft, they can easily be highlighted and given color touch ups. They already come in a vast variety of colors, if you still want to give an overall color, it is possible as long as you go darker or stay in the same shade range, it’s a little difficult to lighten them.

Micro link Hair Extensions

What Are They?

Wear like you grew it! Micro link hair extensions, also known as micro bead hair extensions are applied by taking small section of natural hair and attaching them to tiny wefts of hair using a small silicon-lined bead. They help you score transformation without causing damage to your natural locks.

Treatment

Just like fusion hair extensions, they also need to be treated just like your natural hair, follow the similar hair care regime and wash them the same way.

Durability

Just like everyone else, they last longer if given proper care; they usually last for around 3-6 months, again depending on your natural growth and hair type.

Styling

You can style them any way you want, but the best way to think is how would you do it to your natural hair? On a low setting and not very frequently, and using a heat protectant spray of course. You can use all the heating tools; just keep them a little infrequent. You can also color them any way you want.
